Why We Built Freedom Box

We were furnishing a nursery, replanting a bare backyard, and trying to keep a decade-old model-building habit alive — all in the same spring. One store had thin baby gear picked over by 9am on a Saturday, and the crib we wanted was always the floor model. The garden center closed before we got off work. The hobby shop that carried the parts we needed was a 40-minute drive and cash only. We ended up with eleven browser tabs open and nothing in a cart.

So we built the store we actually wanted: one checkout for the crib, the raised garden bed, and the paint set, stocked with items we've tested ourselves and priced without the boutique markup or the big-box corner-cutting. Everything is vetted for safety and durability before it earns a spot in the catalog, and if it's listed as in stock, it ships within a day.

We're still a small team, and we still open every return personally to see what went wrong. If something doesn't hold up the way we said it would, we'd rather hear about it than pretend it didn't happen.
